One year older...

Well, somehow another year passed and I'm 25 years old.  For my birthday Trent got me a snowboard and all the gear.  I've never been before so on Saturday, my birthday, we dropped the kids off at Stacy and Taylor's (thanks again guys!) and headed up to Brighton.  As you can see, the roads were insane and we had to go super slow, so we didn't get there in time for me to take a lesson.

We finally made it and got all geared up.

If you've never been snowboarding, you wouldn't understand how ridiculous it is to try and get where you're going with just one foot strapped in.  I think I pulled my groin within seconds of getting one foot strapped in.  After trying to get used to getting around with just one foot in, we made our way to the lift.  I was super scared to get off the lift for the first time.  Luckily it was just Trent and I together on the lift so he is the only person I could knock over trying to get off.
The first time off the lift wasn't as bad as I expected, but I did fall on my butt.

I spent most of the day like this.....

And I'm not kidding!  It was seriously the biggest workout!  I spent 90% of the day trying to stand up after falling down.  Way hard!

I think we were there for a little under 3 hours, and I made it down the little bunny hill 4 times!  That's right, FOUR!  We did take a little break after the second time down and had some chili and hot chocolate.  My last time down the hill I really thought I'd broken my tail bone after eating it hard core, and I decided it was time to go.
The next day I was super sore, and still am actually.  As soon as I recover I'll be ready to go again.  It was fun even though I was exhausted and sore.  After we picked up the kids, we came home and I hurried and showered and ran over to Olivia's dance recital.  Of course I was a little late and her dance was first, so I missed it, but she doesn't have to know that.  When I got home Trent had made me a birthday cake.  We ate dinner and had cake then got in the car to go look at lights.  Maxon loved them.  He would get excited and point whenever he'd see them.  There's a family that lives in a neighborhood by us that does this crazy light show.  They live in a gated community and apparently the HOA decided they didn't want to leave the gates open this year so they had to move the light show to Lindon.  We went and saw it and it was awesome.  When you get there you tune your radio to a certain station and the lights change to the song.  It is way cool.  This picture obviously doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea.
